Faribault Woolen Mills

There aren't many companies who can boast a manufacturing heritage quite like Faribault Woolen Mills. Originally founded back in 1865 - the year that Abraham Lincoln died and the civil war ended - to supply the US army with blankets, they're still weaving blankets in their historic 'new' mill (it was built in 1892) on the banks of the Cannon River in Minnesota. Here, on one of the last vertical mills in America, fifth-generation craftspeople produce heirloom-worthy blankets and throws that are woven into the nation's history.
