Peter Jurado and Al Verik are the very mellow designers and co-founders New York based paa - an acronym of 'Peter and Al' - who launched the label in 2013. Having started out with just headwear, successive seasons have seen the line expand, offering grown-up, pared-back takes on various US sports and skate silhouettes, from coach jackets to chinos.
The signature paa M.O. keeps things simple, allowing the choice of fabrics and colour palette to speak for themselves. The aim is to deliver American-made elevated basics that easily become wardrobe staples. Their pieces reveal their quality through subtle design twists and an eye for detail.
Never ones to be flustered, Peter and Al kindly agreed to answer a few off-key questions for us. Their responses were typically understated, which in itself might illuminate their approach to making clothes.
